Getting The Kids Involved in Duathalons
Even though kids have much more natural energy than we adults, and often spend much of their time running in circles anyway, getting kids involved in duathlons and triathlons can be very beneficial to their health and development. Running in these organized races, allows kids to take all of that extra energy, and use it in a way that allows them to run with other kids their age, and in a healthy way.
You may think of marathons, triathlons, and duathlons as highly competitive races where runners push themselves to the limits and try and outrun the next runner to get a better time. While this is true in Olympic and competitive events, these races for kids do not concentrate on “winners and losers,” but rather on having fun while getting a great day of exercise as well. They are the perfect outlet for children who tend to have a lot of energy, as well as a benefit for more lethargic children to learn that exercise can be fun.
